Mikey's Poem

When first you were born you were a little bit fat
With your hands balled in fist, you were ready to fight back

You soon learned to jump, and even to fly
In your bouncing airplane
You were the happiest guy

Laughing and smiling you played all day long
Listening on repeat to the Power Ranger theme song
Jason was the best, he took the pig down
Eating spicy radishes turned the smile to a frown

The Turtles taught you valuable info
Like how to use numchuks and where sewers go
Three Little Ninjas Rocky, Colt and Tum- tum,
Made diarrhea come out of a bad guy's bum bum

They got nothing on Home Alone 1, 2, or 3
MacCauly still master of setting pigeons free
Pinky and the Brain did the same thing everyday
Tried to take over the world, or least that's what they'd say

Cereal and cartoons, just like your favorite song
Frosted Flakes, Coco Krispies, you just can't go wrong
Soccer or football as they call it over there
Making us goalie, it just wasn't fair

You are so unique, ballet, fencing and Greek
In a British accent you once did speak
Your beautiful voice got you into choir school
Swimming in speedos was just too uncool

We traveled the world, bullfighting with Dad
300 pets Teddy thought that we had
The food in general just wasn't quite great
But the Kinder Surprises, we could never hate

Looking back on it now, we were pretty darn posh
Modelling for little Osh Kosh B. Gosh
You could've been Harry Potter but your friend got the role
Just think of Emma Watson, the girl that he stole

The move to Rye public school was quite a shock
No bowing or curtseying, or silly pink frock
In the fifth grade play you got the lead roles
In seventh, you continued to score winning goals
By ninth grade you were ready to quit
And instead ran with us and got super fit
You hated every minute and always ran six
Enough to burn off your Garden Catering fix
You made new lifelong friends every single year
And each and everyone holds your memory dear
Just like Dad, you were a basketball player for life
You'd never have been happy with a nonsporty wife
It may have felt, like we had millions of fights
But as siblings go, we could not have been, more tight
Summers in Rhode Island and family movie nights
Solo cups full of candy made weekends just right
Off to college you went with a smile on your face
The visits we had gave us only a taste
Of the fun that you had with your friends and your bros
Taking any adventure wherever it goes
Pig Roasts, Togas and Easters, I'll never forget
Going to a deaf mass, you probably regret
Lodges were home to some of your craziest times
Spring break with Landshark it's Margaritaville time
Graduation parties led you to so many cool places
You loved hanging out with old familiar faces
Living at home was not your dream
And now I am so grateful for all that it's been
Watching TV and doing P90x
Trying to get us to watch 3D Rex
Las Vegas on reruns as we ate our cheese
And laughed when I freaked out when chased by bees
Christmas at POTs, we weren't always stoked
Shouts of Disperse was our sibling joke
Winter means Knicks games and lots of new fans
Linsanity stole the show with his quick hands
You didn't need a Harvard degree to be a star
Your dedication to work made it clear you'd go far
You lived every moment to the fullest and for that we are glad
The 22 years you lived, were the best you could have
Your time was cut short, your goals not yet reached
But I like to think you're up there surfing a beautiful beach
This poem was written under extreme sleep deprivation
The words were clumsy, but we had inspiration
We hoped you like it and are looking down from above
We wrote it to share with you our endless amounts of our love
We're cheesy, we know it..it is an Ice Family trait
You're always one of us and will always be great.
